Getting Started on BitClout

A step-by-step guide to getting on the fastest-growing platform

  1. Sign up for BitClout.

Copy and save your seed phrase.

Your seed phrase is your password. If you lose it, you will not be able to get into your account, so put it somewhere safe!

Never post your seed phrase!

2. You will need to verify your account using a phone number.

If you don’t want to use your phone number, you can get started by sending at least $60 USD in BTC into your account.

Once your account is verified, @merlin the BitClout ‘Wizard’ will send you some starter BitClout (about $7). This may take up to a week, so if you don’t want to wait, deposit BTC yourself.

In addition, you could sign up for @GiftClout, and they will send you $11.11 worth of BitClout for free.

3. UPDATE: BitClout now sets Founder Reward to 100%, so disregard this point (things are changing fast!)

Before you go further, set your founder reward to 99%

The founder reward is the percentage of every investment into your coin that goes to you — the founder.

The reason you want to set it to 99% is to prevent bots from investing in your coin and driving up the price before you can get in. This will de-incentivize bots from doing this, and if they do, you will actually benefit, because 99% of their investment will go to you.

4. Buy your own coin.

Invest in yourself first.

5. Complete your profile.

Upload a picture, write a brief description of who you are. You can include links.

Once you’ve bought your own coin, reduce your founder reward percentage. Investors will have more of an incentive to invest in your coin if your percentage is between 0 and 20%

6. You’re in! Participate, and have fun!!!

I hope this helps you!
