Stubborn Idiots Aren’t The Only Ones Resisting The Vaccine
It is shortsighted for us to assume that every anti-vaxxer is stupid. The reality is far more surprising.
I lost a friend from COVID this week. He was unvaccinated.
At first I had mixed feelings about writing this article, for fear it might be perceived I was using a person’s death to promote an agenda. But given who my friend was, I truly believe he would welcome this conversation, as he was open to all points of view, and loved having these types of discussions. I wrote this piece in his honor, and I hope that everyone sees that.
My friend was very intelligent. In fact, he was one of the brightest people I’ve ever known. He was well respected and a big thinker, and he was connected with some of the world’s most intelligent and accomplished people.
How can it be then, that his choice did not line up with intelligent thinking, especially given his vast resources of knowledge?
Change your assumptions
The first thing we need to realize is not all people who are against the vaccine are idiots. And until we can understand this, we will get nowhere.
