Book Update

I said from the beginning that I didn’t want to write an autobiography. I look at everything I do in terms of the value an audience can receive from it. Therefore, I’m not the star of the show.

The audience is.

So I got into the zone and just started getting it all out there. As a great writer once said, “Don’t get it right, get it down.” And not only was I having a lot of fun doing it, I felt it was some of my better storytelling.

And after 50 pages, to my dismay I realized… I was writing an autobiography!

If there’s one thing I learned from film school, it’s to “kill your children.” Don’t fall so in love with something that you can’t cut it if it’s wrong. In fact, be ready to kill what you love the most.

It’s not about you. It’s about them.

It’s not to say the writing I did was worthless — not at all! I just need to do some reworking…
